LOFD Ambulance Billing Information

Part of the benefit of living in the Lake Ozark Fire District is that the fire district also provides an ALS ambulance service. Any tax-paying resident within the Lake Ozark Fire District that uses our ambulance service is encouraged to bring their bill into the District's Business Office if, after your insurance pays, you receive a bill for the remainder of the ambulance bill. Along with the bill, you need to bring a current copy of your paid personal property and paid real estate tax. The remainder of the bill will be forgiven.

LOFD ITLS Training

The Lake Ozark Fire District receives numerous trauma calls throughout the year. It is of utmost importance to be able to assess and treat these trauma patients in a systematic and timely manner. That is why the fire district started its own ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) program. ITLS is a global organization dedicated to preventing death and disability from trauma through education and emergency trauma care.
In January 2009, the Lake Ozark Fire District sent four personnel to an ITLS Instructor Course to make it possible to teach the class to others. LOFD then became a training entity for ITLS in February 2011. The Lake Ozark Fire District's first official class was in March 2011, with classes that followed in May and the latest in August 2011. All of the Lake Ozark Fire District's firefighters are currently ITLS certified and LOFD will continue to hold ITLS courses in the future and maintain certification for personnel and other EMS providers.

Currently, ITLS classes consists of two 8-hour days that include didactic trauma material and hands-on assessments and treatments for EMTs and Paramedics. If any EMS provider is interested in taking the course, please contact Firefighter/EMT David Woodward at the Lake Ozark Fire District Headquarters (573-365-3380) for more information.

Lake Ozark Fire District ITLS Instructors are: Vince Loyd, EMS Chief; Bobby Allison, FF/Paramedic; David Woodward, FF/EMT; Shane Roden, FF/Paramedic; and Kelsey Robertson, EMT from Osage Beach Ambulance.
